The whole team has been fantastic from my first appointment. I wanted to try the oral appliance as I didn’t even know it was an alternative to cpap. I had moderate apnea where I stopped breathing 18 times an hour and every morning waking up feeling tired. My numbers are down to once an hour, I don’t sleep as much but my sleep quality is night and day.i was referred by a friend, glad I made the initial appointment.

Dr. Carrie and her team at Riverwalk Sleep Apnea Solutions really improved my poor sleep apnea numbers with my new oral appliance. They worked with me and made adjustments to my appliance, to improve my sleep quality and my oxygen levels! My oral appliance is SO MUCH more tolerable than a cumbersome CPAP device. Dr. Sessom made my oral appliance to treat my sleep apnea. Can’t live without it. I travel a lot and it’s easy and comfortable to wear. My wife sleeps in the same bed with me again, she hated my snoring. I also go there to get my teeth cleaned and dental checkups. They are all professional and caring.

A big shout out to all the gals and folks at Riverwalk Dental Spa and sleep apnea solutions! I've suffered from sleep apnea for years and years and have been noncompliant with my CPAP & when I came down with afib, my doctor said one of the causes is sleep apnea and my heart doctor said I might be a good candidate for the Inspire implant device. I immediately set up an appointment and the doctor that explained the Inspire program said I would need to lose some weight and try a oral device for several months before I would qualify for their implant and if the oral device controlled my sleep apnea then there would be no need for the Inspire. The next step was to check with a doctor that could fit me with a oral device to control my sleep apnea and they referred me to Riverwalk Dental Spa and sleep apnea solutions. The doctor that worked with me was Dr. Carrie Sessom she is great and passionate about her work and helping people (my sleep apnea was so bad I actually dreaded going to bed at night…) they explained the process in detail and what my insurance would pay for and what if any fees I would incur it was a simple decision to pull the trigger and move forward with getting fitted and finalizing the details. Wow this has been a game changer for me wished I would've known about it years ago….. I can highly recommend the services and product I received from Dr. Carrie and her team!

I took the standard sleep study and, as expected, was sent a CPAP machine without any effort from a doctor to discuss options and I absolutely hate using it. Dr. Carrie's staff replaced my uncomfortable CPAP for a medical mouthpiece that now enables me to sleep deeply again after way too many years of interrupted sleep! I want to remain anonymous because this is so embarrassing to and for me as well as for the dental spa, but I recently just got permanent makeup done here by Chelsea and it’s uneven, already fading, and the pigment doesn’t even match at all and looks like an ugly shadow and then to top it off was extremely painful and I’m just humiliated to even go in public and annoyed that I have to fill them in, in certain spots! I should’ve known better than to get permanent makeup done at the dentist, however the business staff is great. But Chelsea was very rough and even rude at times and doesn’t speak very good English. I won’t be back!!!

I and my kids have been patients for about 9 or 10 years now. About a year ago, I decided to try the oral appliance for sleep apnea. I had a CPAP but just wasn't using it because of the hassle. My sleep apnea got so bad I had to do something. This oral appliance is AMAZING. It is so easy to use. You are not tied to a tube and a machine. You can get up and move around if you need to and not have to unhook yourself from a machine. Cleaning–just drop it into a cleaning solution in the morning, then rinse it off and put it back in your mouth at night. Traveling – I can carry this in my pocket. Further, it DOUBLES as a mouth guard if you grind your teeth at night. A CPAP can't do that. Unless you like the every-day-rest-of-your-life ritual of the CPAP, call Dr. Carrie's office and check this appliance out. Cost -this depends on your insurance but it's worth every penny. I can't see without my glasses and now I can't sleep without this appliance.

I normally don't brag about going to the dentist….but the level of care and attention I receive from Riverwalk Dental Spa is worthy of a review. Dr. Carrie and team have changed the landscape of Dentistry in my opinion. They have set the bar so high for others that I can't imagine anyone coming close to how good they are. I know….I know….it's just a trip to the dentist right? Not exactly. 1. They have created an environment that feels more like a spa than a dentist – it's comfortable and "cool". 2. They offer REALLY good care. You would think this is a given everywhere, but it's not. 3. Great people. Look, if someone is going to poke around your mouth it may as well be people that you get along with and appreciate. For me, they changed my smile. They treated my "gap" with their invisalign technology – which was EASY and AFFORDABLE! Already looking into treatments for sleep apnea as well (yep, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have known I had an issue). Potential life saver! Everyone always says you need to have a core set of friends in your life – a doctor, a lawyer and someone that knows business. I'd add a 4th – and that's Dr. Carrie!

My wife & I discovered Riverwalk Dental Spa at the Tulsa State Fair last year. The Somnomed sleep apnea treatment device they had made for me has given me back my days (no longer drowsy) & greatly increased the efficiency of my sleep at night. When our dentist of multiple years announced his retirement, it was a no-brainer to go with Dr. Carrie. When a tooth started killing me this weekend, I was able to call her (late night, no less!) & she cheerfully pre-diagnosed my problem & called in a prescription for an antibiotic & a pain killer to the local 24 hr pharmacy. She & her staff took great care of me today, & got me in quickly to get the source of the pain eliminated. (BTW, she says the root looks good & hopes she WON'T have to do a root canal, but is sending me to a specialist to make sure we don't miss anything.) When I've needed adjustments on my Somnoned, Riverwalk has quickly gotten it taken care of, apologizing for any discomfort (even though it wasn't their fault!). Their schedules have been very flexible, & the environment is second to none. (The video game / puzzles will keep the kids busy & stimulate their brains, while the sounds of a waterfall, the relaxing smells of lavender & other scents, & the beautiful 2nd-story view of the river will make going to the dentist something you look forward to!) If you're looking for quality dental care, or relief from sleep apnea, I'd recommend Dr. Carrie & Riverwalk Dental Spa over anyone else.
