SEALANTS
Sealants provide a tooth-colored acrylic coating, which is painted onto the surface of a tooth. This is highly effective in preventing decay on surfaces of teeth. The simple procedure seals the deep grooves that act as a barrier to protect enamel from plaque, acids and other elements that can damage teeth.
The procedure also helps protect the natural depressions in teeth from food particles and plaque not reachable with normal brushing and flossing. Applying a sealant to each tooth takes very little time – just a few minutes – and the sealant will last several years.
